EFT stands for Emotional Freedom Techniques, and it's a powerful tool for managing emotions, reducing stress, and improving your overall well-being. One of the key components of EFT tapping is knowing where the tapping points are on your body. In this post, we'll explore what EFT tapping is, how it works, and where you can find the tapping points on your body.

What is EFT Tapping?

EFT tapping is a form of acupressure therapy that involves tapping or pressing specific points on the body with your fingertips. This technique is based on the principles of Chinese medicine, which suggests that energy flows through our bodies along specific pathways, called meridians. According to EFT, negative emotions and experiences can disrupt the flow of energy through these meridians, leading to emotional and physical distress.

EFT tapping aims to restore the balance of energy in the body by tapping on specific points along these meridians. By tapping on these points while focusing on a specific issue, such as anxiety or stress, EFT can help release the negative emotions and improve your emotional state.

Where Are the Tapping Points?

There are multiple tapping points on the body, and each of them corresponds to a different meridian. The points are located on the head, face, upper body, and hands. Here's a breakdown of the tapping points and where you can find them:

  • Side of the Hand Point: This point is located on the outer edge of your hand, the soft fleshy part between the wrist and the base of your little finger.
  • Top of the Head Point: This point is located at the top of your head, in the center.
  • The Eyebrow Point: This point is located at the beginning of your eyebrows, near the bridge of your nose.
  • Side of the Eye Point: This point is located on the bone that's at the outer corner of your eye.
  • Under Eye Point: This point is located on the bone just below your eye, in line with the center of your pupil.
  • Upper Lip Point: This point is located between the base of your nose and your upper lip, in the center.
  • Chin Point: This point is located in the crease just below your lower lip.
  • ·Collarbone Point: This point is located where the two collar bones meet at the base of your neck.
  • Upper Ribcage Point: This point is located on the muscular part of the upper rib cage, diagonally down from the collarbone and towards the armpit.
  • Side of the Ribcage Point: This point is located on the side of your body, about 4 inches below your armpit.
  • The Wrist Point: This point is located on the inner wrist, just below the palm of the hand.

How to Use EFT Tapping

To use EFT tapping, start by identifying the issue you want to address. It could be anything from overwhelm, to anxiety to physical pain. Then, rate the intensity of the issue on a scale of 0-10, with 10 being the most intense.

Next, tap or press on each of the nine points while repeating a specific phrase related to your issue. For example, if you're dealing with anxiety, you could tap on each point while saying, "Even though I feel anxious, that’s just where things are at right now." Repeat this phrase while tapping on each point, and then take a deep breath.

After you've completed the tapping sequence, rate the intensity of your issue again. If it's decreased, you can repeat the tapping sequence as needed until the issue has been resolved and the rating goes to 1 or 0.

EFT tapping is a powerful tool for managing emotions and improving your overall well-being. By tapping or pressing on specific points on your body, you can release negative emotions and restore the balance of energy in your body. Knowing where the tapping points are and how to use them can be incredibly helpful in your journey to emotional and physical wellness.
